Mrs.F
Jun 3, 2006, 8:38 PM
I've been wondering for awhile now and apparently so has JohnnyV..

How did you pick your screen names?

Mine is Mrs.F and I came up with that to go along with my husband "Flounder", I didn't want to be Mrs.Flounder so I cut it short. It kind of reminds of that show Scarecrow and Mrs. King...lol.

bhg08054
Jun 3, 2006, 8:57 PM
A number of years ago I was signing up somewhere, and was having trouble finding a variant of my first name only that was available. So I decided on the acronym "bhg" for Big Hairy Guy, and added the zip code I was in, hence bhg08054. Since then, I've used this same name on many adult sites.

Lisa (va)
Jun 3, 2006, 9:47 PM
A few may know this but my given name is really Melissa, but my baby brother had problems saying my name when he started talking and he called me Mylisa, and I have been Lisa for most of my life. As for the (va), it my state abreviation: I use to be just plain Lisa till you had to register and you needed more than four letters and I wasn't very imaginative at the time, but think I should have used my age (but passed on it) then I wouldn't age either, just like Gina....(smart girl)

Who hasn't heard of Dorian Gray, the handsome immortal main character of "The Picture of Dorian Gray" by Oscar Wilde? CT stands for Catania, the city in Italy where I originally come from..

Michael623
Jun 3, 2006, 9:56 PM
Mine is easy. My name is Michael and it was taken when I signed up so I added 623 which stands for June 23rd. The date I had an angioplasty and stent and stopped smoking cigarettes.

My given name is Douglas but my preferred name is Doug and I often found when registering a user name on the majority of sites that anything with Doug had already been taken. So wishing to keep a connection with my own name identity I decided on Darkwater which is gaelic for Douglas.

littlerayofsunshine
Jun 3, 2006, 10:27 PM
Mine is for the fact that I can typically find something humerous in any given situation. I use another variation one another site that is "I'm just a fucking little ray of sunshine" because while I am also funny and lighthearted, I can be sarcastic and intolerant of jerks and assholes. There's more to it than that, but I am too tired for now.

Jun 3, 2006, 10:37 PM
as a life long cross dresser, one thing that i am in most every day is pantyhose and heels so i called myself man in heels &hose, but shortened it up by just saying m (i figured everyone would understand it was for man or male) but i also like mihh (which works just fine too)

thank you Mrs_F for the good question, its nice to see how different memebers came about their "screen names"

usedbear1950
Jun 3, 2006, 10:54 PM
The burning question...why usedbear1950?
I have always been called bear. Stonewall Bear when I was in a gang, yes I said gang, in Harlem in the late 50's and early 60's. Dancing Bear because I love to dance but age has caught up with me. I worked for a company that had railroad in its name...hence railroadbear. But that was either taken or too long for some sites. There is woman on a site who is called used blonde. I combined used and bear and added the year of my birth.
See JohnnyV I told you it was a boring story. And thank you for answering my burning question whether it was Johnny V or Johnny 5.
And of course thank you to the lovely Mrs. F just for being.

I agree Mrs. F, great thread. Its very interesting learning these things. My screen name reflects my emotions at the time I found this site (actually it still reflects them). I came to this site after my first bi experience which happened to be with my best friend. Then low and behold, I fall in love with her...or so I think, but I don't know, is it true love, or just lust...its so confusing...hence the name.

Buck Naked
Jun 3, 2006, 11:07 PM
Buck Naked was the name of a porn star in the 80s. I chose it because that's the way I prefer to be when I'm in the chat room. So, if you see me there, I probably am! :)

wildangel
Jun 3, 2006, 11:07 PM
I spent the first 18 years of my life trying to please everyone and doing nothing to please myself (angel). Right before my 19th birthday I moved out of my parents' house, came out (to my friends) as bisexual, and began living my life as my own (wild). I still try to please other people [to a certain extent] but I, and my family, come first (wildangel).

Great thread!

I'm a major Greek mythology buff and since I was a kid, I've always identified with the story of Orpheus. Having lost his love not once, but twice, he spurns women and sits on a riverbank playing music. He's eventually killed by a group of women who rip him apart with their bare hands. His head is tossed in the river and floats out to sea coming to shore at the isle of Lesbos. I just love the irony. As for the "lost" in the name, I often feel that I've lost my way and need to refocus on where I want to go in life. In the end though, I'm sure you'll find my head washed up on some shore, probably with a goofy grin on my face.

Lorcan
Jun 4, 2006, 12:20 AM
Well... One of my favorite writers, Samuel Delany, wrote this book call Nova in which the hero was named Lorq Von Ray. I have used many variations of Lorq Von Ray as my screen name over the years. Then I came across the Irish name Lorcan, whose meaning is "little fiery one". That description would have fit Lorq Von Ray, and i bet that's where Mr. Delany got it from.

Mr Delany is bi. He could be reading this right now.

I am a big David Bowie fan and Diamond Dogs is one of my favourite Bowie albums. Plus I'm into bears but I'm not a bear and I don't go by their labels (I guess I'd technically be an "otter"), so I guess I'd be a dog as the saying goes...hehehe.

I grew up on the SuperFriends and idolized the Green Lantern. I know! I know! Nerd Alert! Yes, I have a super hero complex and I want to be thought of as the good guy.

Hal was always one of the most powerful characters and always took the job seriously, but he always seemed to avoid leading the team. He could take charge in a predicament but usually left the planning to Superman, Batman, or Wonder Woman.

In retrospect, it is suprising to me how I may have subconsciously mirrored this in several aspects of my life.

The 954 stands for the area code, or sector, for which this GL is assigned.

married_bi_memphis arose from when I was being dishonest. I was advertising that I was a married Bisexual male in Memphis. I stuck with it to remind me of my failure and because I am not out of the closet to the general public yet.

I sincerely wish there was a way I could change it now. I came "back out" to my wife after I failed her and told her everything. It took a while for both of us to heal, and we are still madly in love. She fully supports my journey to becoming comfortable with who I am and acepts my sexuality better than I do, and if my book gets published, I will be "out" to the whole world anyway.

I wonder if there is a way Drew could help me change my name here, but not lose my account and all I have done on it???

I've found this thread to be great reading, very entertaining and an insight to many.

My screen name is not very exciting or anything of deep meaning. Where I live in Oregon (USA) is ofen referred to as "The Pacific North West". . . thus the "NW" part; "Mtn" for Mountain since I was born, raised and lived most of my life in the Wyoming and Colorado Rocky Mountains; and "Hawk" is because for many years as a young adult I was constantly told my eyes had a rather fierce or intense gaze to them which led to the nic-name "Hawk" in real life, but in the world of chat, that is a rather common and usually already used name, so "NWMtnHawk".

A very interesting thread, and one I've greatly enjoyed reading.

My story is probably a little boring, but insightful: I have always used my middle initial, E, on everything, out of respect for my grandmother (I was named after both), but rarely would I ever divulge what it was. One day after dropping hints at what it was a friend blurts out "Emma", it was close but not quite it, anyways the name stuck from there. The 76 represents my college days, I played trombone in the UW Marching Band (you know, the song 76 trombones, from the musical "The Music Man") and the 69, well....I guess you can figure that one out.

I hope to learn more about my chat buddies....

Alot of people get the wrong idea about my name 'jennessex'. It's just short for Jennifer which is my name, but my friends call me Jenn. The essex part is my maiden name. Never been to Essex, England, though I would definitley love to visit. Sex just happenes to be the end of the name. Never anything sexual about it! Just had to throw that in for all the perves! lol

Thanks for giving me the oppurtunity to explain my name! Its fun to see what others mean by it.

Thanks for the thread. I have enjoyed seeing where other peoples screen names came from.

I head a comedian say rumple foreskin instead of Rumple Stiltskin once and thought is was very funny.
I am not circumcised and when I was trying to think of a name to use in a chat I remembered rumple foreskin and so I started using it on adult sites about 5 or 6 years ago. Not much mystery there.

canuckotter
Jun 4, 2006, 3:53 PM
Mine's kind of silly... "Otter" has been a nickname of mine for years... A friend of mine had a deck of medicine cards, and we were taking turns pulling cards out of the deck to see what animals were supposed to represent us. Everyone else's was pretty silly, but mine was pretty bang on... I forget what most of it was, but this deck claimed that otters are very playful and not prone to remaining serious for long (very true) and that otter-type people tend to end up mimicking the people around them (also very true). So it stuck. But since "otter" tends to be used frequently, I've taken to prepending "canuck" to it since I'm a Canuck, ie, a Canadian. So... yeah. I'm sure you were all dying to know. :)

Jun 4, 2006, 4:18 PM
well, why not join the fun?

like everyone else, mine's simply a mixture of name and life experience.. of course, my first name being richard, it just had to be the second half.

now for the wandering part. this is a result of my years of world travel as a military dependent, and active duty military member, and my post service years as a go anywhere, do anything contactor. i've never had what ya might call roots, and actually had always considered my self a nomad. [used that as part of a screen name on another group site, but it didnt go over so well]

it also had to do with the fact that whenever i'd get to a new place, i'd leave my little insular american group and wander around exploring. then a few years later, some of my fellow contractors and i were forming a company and we had to come up with screen names for corporate email, but the stipulation was that it not be real named based.. yeah right, i was stymied.. then one of my closest friends came up with wanderer@......com, but that didnt set right, but after another day or two, well, wanderingrichard popped into my head, and it's stuck ever since.

yep, it's that simple.

My name is Rayna (pronounced Ray-nah) but my friends call me Rain. My favorite color is blue. So I just combined a variation of my name with my fave color and a screen name was born.

My name in Scandinavian means "counsel" and in Israeli it means "song." In Spanish it's Reina, which means "Queen" or "Peaceful." So sometimes I use one of those words in an ID.

I was listening to an old Boz Scaggs song one night and there it was, Boz. It worked well because it was unusual and hardly anyone was using it. Later when I began chatting in gay and bi chat rooms I changed my name to Biboz and attached my age 49. So now I'm Biboz49.

Well I came here to try and learn more about my husband. He is bisexual and I want to be a source of support and understanding for him. At least I though it was for him. But in the months I have been here, it is ME who learned. Loved reading this thread. Great work Mrs. F. We have so much in common.

Hi everyone,

My name is kind of simple. I am just having my first relationship with a woman, so I am new to eating shall we say. I love this thread and have posted one myself which you all were so helpful to me. Look forward to meeting you eh?

strawberry8302
Jun 6, 2006, 2:01 AM
Well strawberry8302 comes from two things. The strawberry is from my favorite fruit, and i've been told thats how i taste! ;) And the 8302 stands for August 3rd, 2002 (8/3/02), which stands for the date that my ex and i got together. We broke up this past January, but I still love him, and he will always be apart of my heart.

Almost univerally, I register the sn Fedaykin. Either it wasn't available here or I decided I wanted another degree of separation between the other boards I post on and here. I still sign my posts as "Fed" though, since unless you address me as that I'll blow right past your post.

Chaia
Jun 6, 2006, 5:37 PM
Chaia is the feminine of Chai, which is the hebrew word for "life." For those into numerology, that word is also the same number as my birth number, 5, so I thought it was destined when my Jewish husband suggested it as a name for me. It is kind of my "searching for myself" name. You pronounce the "Ch" as a gutteral "h" like in "hanukkah" or "chutzpah."

ezervet
Jun 7, 2006, 6:24 AM
well, ezervet is the name i use when i have to make an adult-themed  /dealing with my whole bi-thing screenname (paranoid much? ) .

i got the name by taking my sister in law's name, Erzsébet (elizabeth) which i thought sounded cool, but changing it so it had a similar feel but wasn't obviously the same, just in case. (paranoia again! )

In retrospect though, i realized it might sound like a girl's name, causing confusion. Ah, well. c'est la vie. i like the name.

12voltman59

My screen name on here comes from the title of a Jimmy Buffett song.

I have been a fan of Buffett's since the mid-1970's when I moved to Savannah, Ga. and a girl that lived several doors down from me who also was in my same year of high school at the same school had several records from a singer named Jimmy Buffett who sang music that very much fit the vibe of life down on the Southeast coast.

Almost immediately, I became a fan of Buffett and his music and as I went on to later live in Florida and the Carolinas and serving in the US Coast Guard (thanks to my service--I had the opportunity to experience firsthand, a number of places of which ole Jimmy sang about)-- once again his music was a constant staple of life--just like the lyrics from "Tin Cup Chalice" (another favorite Buffett song): "Give me oysters and beer for dinner every day of the year...."

Ever since I started using the Internet in the mid-1990's--for whatever reason--I used the titles of Buffett songs as screen names with my main one being "Cultural Infidel."

When I came here--I used the title of another favorite Buffett song--"12 Voltman"

I saw Buffett at an event in Cincinnati when he was on a tour promoting a book he had written. Buffett sang some songs and one of them was "12 volt."
He explained that the song title came from rreal life. He had become friends with an ex-pat American (an allusion to another Buffett song) who had moved to a little shack on a beach somewhere in the Caribbean. The only source of power the guy had to power a blender to mix daquiris, run a boom box and plug in a guitar amp from time-to-time was a 12 volt Diehard battery.

Whether the song is based on reality doesn't really matter--it is a hell of a good story that made a good song ----and hopefully for a good screen name.

Ok, you all are going to be very dissapointed after all this build up.

It was suppose to be Aradia (and is on some days) which is said to be:

Aradia is the daughter of Diana* and Lucifer, who is described as "the god of the Sun and of the Moon, the god of Light (Splendor).
There's a bit with poem about them here: http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Aradia%2C_or_the_Gospel_of_the_Witches_Chapter_I

*In Roman mythology, Diana was the virgin goddess of the hunt, the equivalent of the Greek goddess Artemis. Born with her twin brother Apollo on the island of Delos, Diana was the daughter of Jupiter and Latona.
Diana was the perpetually virginal huntress goddess, associated with wild animals and woodlands. She also later became a moon goddess, supplanting Luna, and was an emblem of chastity. Oak groves were especially sacred to her. She was praised for her strength, athletic grace, beauty and hunting skill. She made up a trinity with two other Roman deities: Egeria the water nymph, her servant and assistant midwife; and Virbius, the woodland god.

Are you happy now Flounder? Although I shouldn't have told since your offer of Mrs. F was not sincere. lol

wyrd_truth
Jun 11, 2006, 5:11 PM
My screen name comes from mythology. 'Wyrd' (pronounced like "weird"-which according to most I am) comes from the wyrd sisters, otherwise known as the Three Fates, or even the three witches from Shakespear's MacBeth. You know the whole "Double, double, boil and trouble. Fire burn and caldron bubble". And 'truth' because I am always searching for it, whether it be within myself or the outside world. So, thus I am wyrd_truth.

softfruit
Jun 18, 2006, 6:16 PM
I was writing the guidebook for the 2000 UK bi gathering, BiCon, and needed to write a couple of pages on how to run a workshop / session for people who had never done so - outlining the different ways you could present a subject, techniques to use while facilitating a session, that kind of thing.

I wanted an example workshop title that I felt reasonably sure no-one would submit before the start of the conference, and came up with the subject of the relationship between bisexuality and soft fruit. From this I could lead to questions like, is your workshop going to be for people who are experienced users of soft fruit or who have never thought about it before; is it a theory discussion or a hands-on session where you hand out strawberries to all the participants; and so on.

As a result, I wound up with an undeserved reputation for being a little fixated on soft fruit and all the fun a bisexual or ten could have with it. :)

b) Comes from my middle name, Narelle. (Nare looked silly and I don't 'do' typos like some people.... :rotate: )

c) I used to work at Seaworld on the Gold Coast, they built the Nara Resort.

Country lover is actually what I am. Love living in the country, a born and raised, down home country girl....and I'm definitely a lover :tong:

I came up with that nickname for another adult website, to be more anonymous. But for years and years and years online, I've been SueTX or some close variation of that nickname. If you google "SueTX" I was amazed at how much information comes up about me!

I grew up being called Suzie or SuzieQ and...I'm in Texas so it was just a natural thing. I answer to Sue just as easily as I do to my real name Sara.

When I went online about 12 yrs ago, my family was very fearful of predators and asked me to be as anonymous as possible. I'm careful, but not paranoid anymore, having met some of the best people on the planet through this medium. :three:

When I was trying to think of a name I remembered that people in my line of work are nick-named tinmen, (I sell vinyl/aluminum siding). Besides loving my job, I also loved the Paul Newman, Danny DeVito movie also titled "Tinmen". So many people figure that there is a "Wizard of Oz" relation, but nope! The 714 is my birthday, not the quaalude. Since coming up with this name I have gotten quite a few offers to pop pills and watch Judy Garland movies. LOL!! Just something that popped in to my head at the last minute.

Amishmafia
Jun 23, 2006, 5:14 PM
I'm a writer, a fairly odd one at that. This name was based on a brief idea or rather memory of going to Lancaster and surrounding areas in PA, seeing the Amish making tons of money on tourism and then considering the amount of money being brought in, and the fact that all they do is work (and pray), they have non stop profit making potential, being crystal candies and such, that there must be a back room set in a barn behind the cattle and butter churns, where Dry Hill Johnny sits around piles of money, shipping merchandise via horse and buggy and protecting the racket by simply being Amish. It would totaly work. So in anticipation of prosecution I opened the doors to
Amish Bail Bonds Co. Should this become a reality, Im well ahead of the game.

Plus the irony factor is I'll never, or at least I should'nt ever run into someone online who would be offended by this.

Thanks Mrs. F

moonlitwish
Jun 23, 2006, 8:55 PM
Moonlitwish...does it bring on shadowed images of a scantly robed lover standing before an open window, curtains billowing in the breeze? Two young people on an empty beach lying in the sand wishing the night to never end? Great! But that has nothing to do with the origin of my name.
I guess not many people have a story....but I do~
It came from a troubled time in my childhood when my parents had just separated and I was having trouble 'finding' myself in a world where i was expected to act like an adult, but given none of the privileges of adulthood by either my parents or the authorities. I was having a terrible time sleeping one night and wandered out of my grandmother's house at midnight (the witching hour, lol) The moon was nearly full, and upon it I wished to 'find' whatever it is that was missing from my life keeping me from being happy. I prayed for the first time to the Goddess and when i turned around to go back inside I found a bit of an omen that my wishes would be granted. Just so happens that the name isn't very common. It's not long either and there are no numbers to confuse so I can use it for everything. I was the original Moonlitwish on AOL, my bank, my credit card company, yahoo, MSN Hotmail (and still am, hehe) So yes a spiritual nick name on a sexual site! Good thing my religion doesn't distinguish the two lol

The second half has a little more history. Several years ago I would attend Pride in Toronto and come across an information booth for the recently-defunct Bear Buddies Toronto. Someone from the group would see what I look like and offer to chat with me. More than once I had left a chat with them with a button that said Bear Buddy.

I don't generally have much of a beard at all but I have other physical characteristics that give me the "bear" look to others. A couple of previous bi female lovers, who knew about bear culture, saw that in me and celebrated it. I noticed that the word 'polybear' seemed to be rather unique so I took it for myself.

I'm a goth - I've been a goth for a long time now, although I'm too busy now to keep up with the makeup and hair dye. I'm also a mom. There it is...Gothmom.

See, I told you it was boring. Oh, and my real name is Karen.

My name means "courage" in Esperanto (yep, a blast from the past). Pronounced Ku-ra-joe with the emphasis on the penultimate syllable. (I've always wanted to use the word "penultimate" in polite company) I thought naming myself "courage" might give me a bit more. :)

Hi sammie19.

I did some research, and I think I found the explanation for the extra "e", however, if I am right there could be one letter even missing. :)

"Sammier" means (Old English)........A machine for pressing the water from skins in tanning

Now I don't know if this is clarifying, or just mixing you up, but just so you know, I definitely vote for Sam

Well I am certainly glad in that case I am not English because the thought of being called "Sammier" has no appeal whatever.

Nice simple explanation, I hope.
Chatting to a bi bloke a few years ago on a hetero ID I use for family who don't know my sexuality we were camming, and had been discussing sci fi films, and mentioned one in which the plot twist was that the spaceship was powered by anti-matter.
I commented on meeting your anti-matter self, would you explode if you touched them?
And he said along the lines of "Thats a nice lot of matter in your hand now"
Bulb above head time, and my alias was born.

Just_Gem
Oct 1, 2006, 12:49 PM
This has been an interesting thread to read and figured I'd add my own story to it, for what it is worth. :cutelaugh

When I first got on-line shortly after my late husband died, :( I tried using GEM but found it too short for most uses. GEM came from my late husbands name (G - George) my name (E - Ethel) and our last name (M - McGuigan). Since GEM was too short, it morphed into geminc. We had been making plans to turn part of our property into a private campground for friends that wanted a nice, though primitive, place to get away for a weekend or week without having to worry about phones and such (at that time cell-phones didn't work in that area as there were no towers). GEMINC was what we were thinking of calling our business, so it was a natural thing for me to use at that time.

After marring my present husband (westtennbiguy here), I asked him once if he wanted me to change my on-line name and he said no - that I would always be his "Gem" so I kept that part. BTW - We met in a chatroom of another type that we both visit.

Not long after we were married - maybe a year or so - we were talking one night and he blurted out to me that he was bi - not at all sure how I would take it, but wanting to get it out. That gave me the perfect opportunity to tell him that I was bi as well. When we started looking for bi sites, we originally used the name Gem_N_I on one site as we couldn't afford to pay for 2 names at that time. When we left there for a free site and could both have our own ID's, he was still using Gem_N_I so I just came up with Just_Gem for myself. When that site folded, and we were directed here, I brought that name with me here.

That's it in a nutshell. :wiggle2: :bibounce:

Oct 13, 2006, 9:16 PM
Fun reading.

twosides is really just the result of a thirty second thought process as I was signing up. When I found this site I was coming to grips with what I had been slightly aware of for many years. I've used many screen names over the life of the internet, but wanted something relevant to what I was coming to accept. I felt that there were two distinct sides to my sexual nature. Straight and ... something else. If I were to sign up here again, I might choose something more bi-related. But I like it as it is.

As for me....well my usual screen name was taken (Dreamer1215). So I used another one of my screen names. It also happens to be 1 of my fave songs of all time (by James Taylor) and was covered in the early 90's by another 1 of my faves, Badlands. One of my fave guitar players started that band, Jake E. Ever since I was little - I always thought that the dogwood tree in bloom was one of the most beautiful trees around. So in the late 60s - when I was into two-way radios (CBs and SSB or Sliders), I chose my "handle" (first of many) - The Dogwood.
Years later, I became fascinated with animation art work, anime-manga - Hentai - elfs, pixies and the such. I came accross InuYasha - Temple of The Dog and was entranced by his sleekness, beauty and courage. Thus he became my alter ego of sorts. When I found this site and joined - I could think of no better name to use.

Well mine is from Greek Mythology. Satyrs and Nymphs were considered to be Spirits of all things sexual. The Satyr are half-man and half-goat nature entities that roamed the woods and mountains, and were the companions of Pan and Dionysus. In mythology they are often associated with male sex drive and Greco-Roman art often portrays them with erections.

I'm a closet writer/artist. My screen name is in reference to how I hold my writing/drawing pens; lightly and softly so that my strokes flow easily onto the paper. The nine, well, I think I read somewhere that it's a universal number. I just like it because it's the highest single digit in the decimal system and it's a square of 3 which is a symbol of completion.

I apparently thought it was very funny because the name Sam stuck even though it in no way relates to my real name except that they start with the same letter. Even now, my Mom and Uncles all refer to me as Sam and even the ocassional "Green Eggs and Sam". As for the 08537, my best friend in high school and I were both big geeks. Goofing off in Algebra one day we relized that if you type )08537 on a calculator and turn it up side down it spells "Lesbo". When I first started surfing the net and signing up for various accounts, it was to try and find my best friend. I've just used it ever since for everything. :bibounce:

2.) I put "chic" because I feel I'm sort of inbetween being a "girl" and a "woman" so it fit, plus I think it looks good along with the word "dance"
3.) 17 is one of my lucky numbers...not my age!

zyzygy
Mar 30, 2007, 10:21 PM
Syzygy is a technical astronomical term concerning the alignment of planetary bodies. I first saw it used in a novel by that name by Frederik Pohl.

One day I was trying to set up a user name in Napster and all the obvious ones were taken, and I also wanted something that would collate at the bottom end of any list.

So syzygy became zyzygy and I've been that, everywhere, ever since. :tong:

TaylorMade
Mar 31, 2007, 12:18 AM
My name is NOT after the Golf Club company.

Taylor originally came from Mac Taylor (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mac_Taylor), played by Gary Sinise, my favorite actor. I originally was going to use the ID SirDylan, though.

BackStory on Sir Dylan. While I am born female and pretty feminine, I have an acknowleged male side. It was brought out while aquainted with a bi male. He wanted a female "protector" in roleplay - -to help make up on him in private (I'm not into full drag, just like make up on men), and help me dress like a man, but be female in alot of ways. He even started to call me Sir, and Dylan is a favorite name of mine, so - - Sir Dylan. Eventually, I took on Mac Taylor's last name, and well, if you want to tap into that part of me, I guess you'd have to ask for Dylan Taylor.

I wanted to avoid confusion (If your name is Sir, why are you feminine) yet be clever, so I decided, why not be TaylorMade for whomever I find on this site?

And to be honest, I agree with whomever said - - Golf is a long walk ruined.

*Taylor*

Mine is Mrs.F and I came up with that to go along with my husband "Flounder", I didn't want to be Mrs.Flounder so I cut it short. It kind of reminds of that show Scarecrow and Mrs. King...lol.

I was trying to figure out a name and my neice who was 8 at the time suggested to look in the dictionary.. she pointed to a name and I did... she came up with fer and I came up with sea.. hence seafer.. Ive had it ever since..

mindfinding
Mar 31, 2007, 1:01 AM
My name is quite simple. I'm here to find out more about my mind.

I believe in the constant learning of ones self. So in a sense I am constantly looking for who I am, how I truly think, and how it effects and affects others. Its not the coolest name I could think of, but it was the first thing to come to mind,...and sometimes that how I roll.

Maybe I should've picked "Lazer Beam", or "Captain Awesomeness 2000". On that note, maybe I could dance the freakin cha cha in a too too and cover myself in Jelly beans on a hot Friday night while watching some jerk dance the flamenco even though I had my heart set on watching Lost. Stupid dancing with they stars. The can just piss off.

So thats my name.........HA!

Spoiledangel well, I'm spoiled (if you want me to justify being spoiled IM me on yahoo or msn and ask me) ...I'm an  , most of the time lol. and 86 is my birth year and 0505 well I had 05 but my yahoo and msn messengers got hacked into that I had to get a new screen name and I just put another 05 on it, it was in 05 that it got hacked.

I also used anr68611 and andrea68611 the ANR is my initials and 68611 is my birthday backwards. 68611 - 1-16-86

Yes, finally everyone knows my real name, its Andrea.

flexuality
Mar 31, 2007, 2:34 AM
I signed up here a week before Solomon (my hubby) otherwise I would have chosen QueenOfSheba as my nickname cuz it goes with Solomon.

When I first came to this site, I really didn't know how to refer to myself as far as sexual orientation goes....I've never really believed it was a good idea to "slot" people that way...and besides I realized that I am attracted to all kinds of different people for many different reasons and that for me, sex is just one way of expressing that.

I like to think of myself as "flexible" rather than stuck in my thinking, and I had come across the term "heteroflexible" but didn't like the hetero part.

I guess flexuality just rhymes with sexuality and doesn't really categorize me with ANY label (I hate labels lol!) and is also a kind of statement of tolerance for all "orientations" (another word I am not fond of).

That and it was available! LOL! :tong:

I have had a few different handles on different sites and if I had known how much fun and how interesting and how witty it is here as well as comfortable and my favorite, how nice the people are, I would have spent a little more time considering my screen name, but no, the struggling writer I am, I just came up with the very lame and predictable "fortyniner1" to display to all the world, but oddly enough, I like the handle and I do like the SF 49ers and I am 49 so, for now, it fits, until my next birthday when I have to think of something else.

FerociousFeline
Apr 2, 2007, 3:18 AM
Wow....such a wide variety of names for different reasons. Thanks for the descriptions, I enjoyed reading through them.

As for me, well? I sort of touched on the idea in my profile, but the name was originally given to me during the time period in my life when I was a submissive to a very beautiful and demanding Mistress. She had taken me to a D/s party on the east coast(very large event, took up the entire floor of the hotel), and once we got there, my Mistress let go of my collar and I, (as usual) went to see what kind of mischief I could get into. What I found was an absolutely delectable female submissive who was a live work of art. She was an incredible redhead with thick long bright red hair that went all the way down her back and covered her sex. She had black stripe tattoos on her back and hips, she wore a cat ears headband and was roleplaying as her Mistress's cat. There was obvious sexual tension between us as we both sought to sneak away from our Mistress's behind the bar. Just when things were getting REALLY interesting, I felt myself being pulled off of her by my collar and scolded by this sex kittens' Mistress. She turned to my Mistress and told her that she had BETTER keep her Ferocious Feline on a leash! One look at my Mistress told me all I needed to know. 1) I saw the lightbulb go off over her head and realized that I had just heard the name that I would be known as from then on. 2) I saw the look in her eye and realized that I was going to be in some REAL TROUBLE for misbehaving, and that she was just going to RELISH correcting me. (lol)
So, the name stuck.

Solomon
Apr 2, 2007, 4:46 AM
i chose Solomon, because all of my life i've seen how poverty is basically a way of thinking (i didn't think of it like that always lol), but up until recently i've never had any clues on how i was going to make the huge sums of money that i've always hungered for.

then a mentor stepped into my life and earned my respect well enough that i would listen to what he was trying to teach me. Most of what he showed me lines right up with the principles found in the book of Proverbs, and Ecclessiastes which were both written by Solomon. The book of Proverbs was also the first book in the bible that i've read as a result of the teachings of my business associates.

i've always heard from every wealthy person that i know, through business associations or books or whatever, that "there's not a money problem on the face of the planet, it's a wisdom problem" so i figure that Solomon was the wisest and the richest, so maybe some of it'll rub off onto me someday...

This thread is epic!! -- Mrs. F, I bet you never expected this thread to get this huge!...

Picked up my screen name years ago when first signing up on another site. The Hudson is fairly large river around here (you may have heard of it!), also the last name of the organ player for The Band (Garth Hudson) who I'm a fan of. Surprisingly, there were already 8 other Hudsons... hence, Hudson9. (Whenever someone asks if the "9" is for 9-inches, I'll either say "Hey, this is the internet - EVERYBODY's got 9-inches" or "no, actually it's 9 centimeters, but I don't like to brag")

:tong:

vittoria
Apr 3, 2007, 1:55 AM
hey diamond dog... i'm a bowie fan too...
a couple of my real life screen names are "bowie-isms"
and because of the "man himself" i chose vittoria primarily because of
the androgynous aspect... think of the movie victor/victoria-- which is one of my favorite blake edwards films...i chose the "vittoria" version cause i think it looks prettier...

besides i like names that begin with the letter " V "... i like words that begin with the letter v too... lets not get into the movie " v for vendetta"... lol

Fizban
May 13, 2007, 10:32 AM
Raistkit, I am also a fan of the Dragonlance series. (Brother and sister... hmm! ;) For non-fans, Fizban was the human avatar for Paladine, the God of Good. He was a wizened, crusty old wizard who would show up when you least expected it. Now, has anyone seen my hat? :)

May 13, 2007, 1:04 PM

[QUOTE=hudson9]This thread is epic!! -- Mrs. F, I bet you never expected this thread to get this huge!...

NO, I didn't ever think this thread would be so huge. But it is very interesting how we all came up with our names. Some are very creative and some self-explanatory.

Most think mine is Mrs.F with the F standing for F***. However....it's not. I might have picked something else when I joined if I had thought about it more. But I am the wife of Flounder and so I made myself Mrs.F. ;)

miller lite man
May 13, 2007, 1:36 PM
How'd I pick my sn? simply, we like Miller products. As for how I choose mrc57107 for my aol screenname . ..that's cuz my dad calls me "Mister C",I like it..and 57107 is my zipcode. .. hence mrc57107. .

TheWonderNerd

I just wanted something that sounded good, so TheWonderNerd. It fits me as well. I am a nerd and a geek, so it fits.

See ya about.

izzfan
May 13, 2007, 5:17 PM
My screen name is a reference to Eddie Izzard. Basically, I first saw Eddie Izzard on an episode of Top Gear a couple of years ago and I've been a fan of his shows ever since.

Izzfan :flag3:

Vuarra
May 13, 2007, 7:16 PM
Vuarra was the (f) name of a dungeons & dragons character. When I finally got on the net in 1995, a friend convinced me to join ICQ, and it asked for a nick... I couldn't think of one (cos everyone called me by my first name), so I chose a female half-elf.

Curmudgeon
May 13, 2007, 7:35 PM
I picked my screen name because it is descriptive of my current status -- an old geezer who is often cranky and sartorical.

FalconAngel
May 14, 2007, 2:04 AM
ours is a combination of our road names. Falcon and Angel. Nothing really interesting there, but still, it is unique and it works for us.

mouse46
May 14, 2007, 8:51 AM
:flag4: Mine was given to me some 20 years ago by an ex- girlfriend. Which as it happens is part of a cartoon character. And also my nickname given by my parents as a child. ----- Mouse! LOL Think about it. For those who know me , know my name already. ;)

Marathon
May 14, 2007, 9:52 AM
Great thread...I will jump on.

My name "Marathon" comes from the fact that I am a runner and enjoy the total commitment that it takes to train for and finally run 26.2 miles. I run about 2-3 per year.

oh, and I like "marathon" sex.

as in, all-nighters. :)

DeafF2M
May 15, 2007, 1:31 PM
Whew... took me a half hour to read through all the posts on this topic, but highly enjoyed myself!

My SN is very simple. I'm Deaf and I'm F2M. If you're not familiar with F2M, look at my profile or the many topics pertaining to transgenderism or transsexualism. LOL

freedom199408
May 15, 2007, 6:26 PM
My name came about because of the "freedom" I gained when I stopped living under the tyrannical gynocracy of my childhood home. 199408 is the year and month I left home for the last time. The military has programmed me to put the date in YYYYMMDD format. Guess I'm just a tool, lol

Dagni
May 15, 2007, 6:37 PM
Well Dagni is my middle name. Actually, on original, on Finnish it's Dägni and even that is very hard to pronaunce in right way.

My real name is Hänelle-Riikka, and people in Scandinavia usually call me like that, but for foreigners i'm always known as Dagni Kankkunen.

Many Finns have that problem when to find something acceptable for foreigners about their names, so i just pick Dagni.

But you may call me Flying Finn.

BreeIsMe
May 15, 2007, 8:14 PM

Bree is me............

Toad82
May 15, 2007, 9:51 PM
I can't remember the real reason I go by Toad, but I like to tell people it is because people like to lick me. I used 82 because 1982 is the year I was born.

Melody Dean
Apr 9, 2015, 6:23 PM
I have a crush on Amanda Palmer. She wrote a song about having a boyfriend, but they had an agreement where she could still date women. She found a woman she liked, but then her boyfriend said no. The woman, and the name of the song, is Melody Dean.

HardCell speaks to my love of play on words. So the name to me suggests skepticism (sell), being in a very limiting situation (cell), and toughness (cell - of a biological nature). 735 is the reverse of 537 which is a number that has continually shown up in my life through synchronicity. You know how some people would talk about looking at the clock, and how it's very commonly at a particular time? 11:11 is a common time people experience this phenomenon with. Well, my time is 5:37.

King...lol....I hate to give y name when I place a food order at a fast food joint...back I the 70s they didn't call the number off your receipt like they do now...so one day I told them my name was Smith...Charles Smith...when the guy raised his eye brow like he didn't believe me...so I said...Charles Smythe...and made a big deal about the spelling no one ever questioned it as my name...when I stated doing flea markets...I stared using it as my flea market name...there are people who've known me for 30 years & actually think my name I really Charles-Smythe...

Were you once in prison?

No. Unless you count the world as it is set up as a "prison". Some folks do.

What's happened to you at 5:37?

I would look at the clock. It would happen over and over.

Who hasn't heard of Dorian Gray, the handsome immortal main character of "The Picture of Dorian Gray" by Oscar Wilde? CT stands for Catania, the city in Italy where I originally come from..... was there in the 60s...but I thought it was in Sicily...not Italy...
