I should think so too.. I trust by the use of the word "Gay" there will be no exclusion of bisexual men...

"Gay men already experience poor sexual health as a group and if action is not taken we're going to see an ever widening healthy inequality emerge around HPV, anal cancer and warts," he said, "I don't think there is another area of health policy where men are so clearly losing out."

What's your point? Anal cancer is not exclusive to only bisexual men or gay men.
This actually is a good point to make.. the vaccination is currently offered to all girls... not all become sexually active, but is an element of protection for them all whether or not they become so... not all men will become homo or bisexually active, and even those who do, not all will have anal sex, but many will and do as they grow older... but whether they do or don't, should the added protection the vaccination offers to men irrespective of whether or not they have anal sex be offered to all young men and boys? The cost of vaccination may not be cheap, but the cost of dealing with anal cancer is a helluva a lot dearer especially the personal (non financial.. this is the UK) health cost to those who develop the disease...
Many oppose the vaccination of young girls as it is claimed to encourage sexual promiscuity among them, and I have no doubt an even greater hue and cry would hit the roof if it was decided to offer it to all boys and young men... but to fail to do so, that is a double standard we should not stand for!

You'd be wrong to have that trust. The only way you'd win on that one is if the program director was one of those people who thinks that bisexual men are just confused gay men. Which I suppose, there is a decent chance of... sadly.

In February of 2012,agroup of women doctors urgedthe Ontario government to offer 13 yr old boys free HPV vaccine as well as girlon the position that both sexes transmit thevirus and BOTH are at risk of deveoping cancers. Presently only 55% of 13 year old girls take the free vaccine in my province. No mention of gay men was made.Ithink arguing equality of free vaccines to bothsexes isa wiser approachthan stating gay men. I cansee boysand parents resistig thevaccine thinking myson is notgay orboysrefusing it because because they do not wantto be seen as gay by male peers.

I am a 49 yr old bi man who had fewer than a dozen male sexual encounters and less female encounters before I married and became heterosexually monomgamous. I was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma cancer in 2009 with the primary tumor in my right tonsil and some invasion of the lymph nodes in my right neck. I spent most of 2010 on my back (not in a good way! ;>) ) doing concurrent chemo and radiation therapies and have been in remission for 2 years now (fingers & toes crossed). Recent research seems to suggest that most head and neck cancers in men may well be caused by the HPV virus, so vaccination may prove to be a powerful tool in this fight.

After reading about what this "immunization" shot did to over 1700 women in France ALONE...no way, I'm never going to do this or make my daughter use it. It's insane and with insane risks involved. Back to the drawing board please, and when you DON'T cause AIDS symptoms in so many of those who get it, I'll think better of it.

Chapter and verse please. Ian.. you can't make a broad statement like that without it.. Cervarix or Gardasil? Or both? And the topic is about helping men here, not girls and women... if there are serious risks we should know about, let's have them.. reliable sources please...
