The link above say it all. Me personally, I think it would be best if he cased a straight actor for the role. I also think it's unfair, that a gay or a bi man should get the role. I think a complete straight actor would be perfect for women's fantasies to be put on the big screen.

I don't care that Bomer is gay but he's a boring and one-dimensional actor. I have not read 50 shades of grey and I don't want to since I hear it's very tame and boring.

I thought I was the only one that do not like White Collar. It's so dull.

First off, let me say that Ellis guy is a complete asshole. Secondly, gay actors have played straight and pulled it off beautifully. The article mentioned Neil Patrick Harris' womanizing t.v. character. I think he does an awesome job in the sit com. But Fifty Shades of Grey is a far cry from comedy. It's in a different sphere. I love Matt Bomer's work. He's gorgeous, sexy and I love seeing him on screen.

But for me, the genre calls for someone truly into women. I think that element has to be there in order to pull off the essence of Christian Grey. Matt Bomer was in Magic Mike. We can all agree he is hot and sexy , but I couldn't help but ask myself what was going through his head when he was doing that part. Could he pull of the stripper thing? Yep. I'm sure he got a kick out of it.

But Shades of Grey is a different animal completely. The actor should be someone who knows women inside and out. Who loves the thought of playing, tasting, fucking, and loving women. Whether that's a bisexual or hetero guy. As long as he understand the concept of delving into a woman's mind as well as her body. It should be an art form for him. Something that he prides himself on perfecting. For this particular film, I don't think I would get that vibe from Bomer. Women are gonna put themselves in the lead female character's shoes. I know I do. I gotta be able to believe.

Now someone else may feel differently. Some like the idea of Bomer in the role because it adds to the "unattainable" aspect. I get that, but women are gonna be watching this film in order to have the fantasy of being with this guy. We become the woman on screen. For me it would be a bit difficult to get in that head space knowing that sexy Matt is gay.

To me it's not so much discrimination as trying to make it believable for the audience, if Bomer is chosen yes he could ACT straight, he is an ACTOR but it's like Cruise being picked to play Jack Reacher who is 6'5" and 250 pounds in the book, it just is totally against what we have pictured in our minds and it can ruin it immensely for some. But it's not about discrimination based on sexuality for "phobic" purposes it would be for artistic integrity and I hope the LGBT would see the difference there instead of making a mountain out of a molehill.
