Utterly sickening, this war. Wonderful paper, the Times.

I can't believe people who are meant to fight against this very sort of thing are doing this. Thank God our governments do something about these people rather than preaching their praises though it hardly makes it alright.

Well, to be honest I was emphasizing the cover-up aspect more.

It shows the lack of leadership in the military. I am former military officer and have seen the careerist officers rise to power. They are more concerned about shifting or avoiding blame. The weasels get the stars. Former General Colin Powell has doubt about war beforehand but does not resign. Generals after they retire speak out. Put your stars on the line generals if you think the war is a failure. Where are the officers and the senior NCOs? It seems they are never on those patrols. So it seems the officers and the senior NCOs are hunkered down in the green zone and 19 and 20 year olds have no mature supervision. All these patrols that commit crimes it seems never has an officer with them.

One of the best things about this site is lack of completely overt world political bullshit that poisons most forum boards. It would be a shame if we fell victim to the trap that is partisanship.
