The site's owner has died. The site is on autopilot. Chat has started up every quarter or so. It then runs for a few weeks then stops. There are other threads referring to sites with chat.

You appear as tech savvy PBP. Do you have a credible theory about why the chat is so sporadic, somewhat unpredictable ?

And also why Drew's other site (Threepillows) is still up and running yet hasn't been updated since Jun of last year?
This site IS on auto pilot.

Has the chat function here on Bisexual.com been working at all since Drew was reported to have passed? If it was working up to a point and then failed after his documented date of death without the chat issue being resolved since then, it's likely that the site is adrift. (The fact that my multiple posts regarding a competing site have gone un-mediated or deleted also provide additional evidence to this fact.)

I'm somewhat of a newcummer here on Bisexual.com, but in seeing what is happening here, I have built http://Swing-Bi.com with the intent to provide a more regulated and up-to-date environment for bi discussion. The site is new, but the forum is in place. A chat function will be implemented within the next day or so. I'm still working on the Personal Ad part of it, but it's my hope to be able to provide that as well.

Regardless, I have now provided an administered alternative to this site that has no management. I hope that everyone will check it out and give it a try with the understanding that the site has been live for only 5 days. We have 40 registered members at the moment. Content is a little sparse because we're still new. We need YOU to register and get involved!

BTW, we've found that a lot of the activation emails that are sent that require you to prove that your email address is valid end up in junk mail folders. When you register, you will receive an email with an activation link in it that you will need to click to activate your account. The email may very well go into your Junk Mail folder. Please add admin@swing-bi.com as a white-listed or safe sender to ensure that you will receive all of our emails.

Please cruise on over to http://Swing-Bi.com and register. (A lot of the site is not visible to un-registered users, guests, and search bots for security purposes.) We hope to get to know you soon!

The software for this particular chat service (http://www.123flashchat.com/buy.html) is expensive to license for unlimited users. As is the monthly fee for hosting (http://www.123flashchat.com/host.html) the chat. Yes, I can see how for Drew the site would be expensive to keep up. That noted, there is other chat software and chat hosting services what lack such expense. I can see how if the company offering the software and hosting, alters any of their code it would knock chat at any site it hosts for out. If someone were administrating this or any site using their software, they would be alerted to changes, and modify what needed modified on their own site to accommodate. The chat going off and on is likely due to no one administrating this site, or no one paying the monthly hosting fee, combination of these.

No, I was not asked. I offered a humble :2cents: which to me seems logical based on observation, life experience, Occam's Razor.
