Has anyone been to a clothing optional resort?
What are the pros and cons.
Do you have any recommendations and why?

Clothing optional at the request of an ex...... and it was enjoyable, the people were kind and considerate.....rules explained clearly tho I did notice that the rules did kinda focus a bit on males and their genitalia but avoided * sensitive * issues like women and their periods.....IE telling males to hide an erect penis was ok, but women having accidents like with the time of their month, was not mentioned.......
Sex was to be behind closed doors please, males please take note... .that was aimed at gay / bi males mostly because of problems with them having sex in public areas of the resort like the beach, tho straight couples were also included.......
clothing optional actually meant light coverings like bikinis and briefs, shorts / skirts but no full body covering or jeans full length dresses etc........
It was marketed as LGBT+ all genders inclusive, and the resort was, but not all of the people were inclusive
The cons were some tattoos and scars were not considered suitable for viewing, and while I did not have tattoos, I have a lot of scars, some surgical, some from fighting and street violence, and some from military service.......tho most people would not know the difference between surgical and combat scars... but sometimes I did have to cover up, not so much because of the scars but because some people were anti war people so having a scarred combat vet there, was * insulting * to them.......and while I was ok with wearing a shirt, I was honest with the staff that a asshole attitude was a lot harder to cover..... they privately agreed and a few months later the troublesome members were asked not to return......
Sunburn, the number of people that got sunburnt, specially on sensitive areas, lol......even the best sunscreen on the market often will not stop sunburn.....while others looked like aged and worn leather, they had been in the sun so much over the years......
attitudes....one of the biggest cons for me, is attitudes.... mostly the one of some nudists which is they are nudists and happy being nudists so other people should get with the program and be nudists as well..... I tend to be more middle of the line, if a person wants to be nude, fine....but respect others who do not wish to be nudists, and not every body is a prude, some people are self conscious about their bodies....or just do not want to see some of the naked bodies on display.....
......and secondly the anti male bias, such as the free the nipple campaigners, who have a stance of only males perv at topless females, cos apparently lesbians and bi females do not exist or look ......
Overall it was a bloody nice experience, I meant some interesting people and while I have not been back to a clothing optional resort, I hope that anybody that does go to one, enjoys themselves.....and yes there were some nice bodies to go with some great personalities, its hard not to look when goods are on display.....

We enjoy nude and lifestyle resorts. Have gone to various ones in WV, VA, NC, GA, and FL, also to Hedo2 numerous times. Mostly, we prefer LS resorts as the rules and people aren't so "uptight" about touching, and talk - besides, who doesn't like to turn around and see their wife with a cock in her mouth, lol. We've been to Hedo2 and Cypress Cove resort about the same number of visits. CC is the home of AANR, so it is 'very' wholesome family oriented. Was even in their brochure to not discuss swinging with other members. That being said, swinging was one of the first questions we were asked in the hot tub, lol. Hedo2, well, guess needs no explanation, legendary... Paradise Lakes in Lutz FL is a nice place, LS friendly, and a heck of a lot closer than Hedo

Have done both nudist and ("straight") lifestyle campgrounds / resorts *many* times with my wife. They are very different tho. Don't go to a nudist place thinking it's for sex or exhibitionism or for random hookups. Nudist places are where you're free to be naked (or possibly, *required* to be naked). The philosophical ideal is body acceptance ("body positive"). You are there to experience being naked in a supportive and non-judgemental environment. It's *not* a place for exhibitionism, for showing off to others; it's a place to simply be yourself and accept your body as it is. It's not a meat market for pickups, so just please don't (newbie single males propositioning females is a problem). All that said, there's always a subset of nudists who are (possibly closeted) swingers, and if you're very discrete, you might find out who they are; what goes on inside people's trailers is no one's business, in general.
Lifestyle campgrounds OTOH are implicitly sex-positive. Exhibitionism/nudity/open sex is often just fine tho there may be restrictions on where and when. Looking for sex partners is OK (if not done aggressively or annoyingly).

There's a place called The Woods Campground in Lehighton, Pennsylvania. Pretty active place, so I've heard.

One CON would be that it is easy getting used to being naked in public and spending more time at the resort than you should. Being naked in a group is liberating and addicting.
If your goal is sex, a swinger's club is a better bet. If your goal is sex with men, be careful, not all swinger's clubs (or guest at swinger's clubs) are open to sex between men.
I once went on a swingers cruse where clothing was optional, once the ship was a few miles out of port. People openly sunbathed nude, strolled around nude. At night there were sex events, couples openly had sex in the hot tub, the pool, basketball courts but when it came to two men doing anything sexual in public, that was not looked upon kindly. Sex between guys simply happened behind closed doors.

With respect, this is changing. MM play is become increasingly common and accepted in "straight" lifestyle venues, at least where I live in (liberal) Toronto. Half of the clubs here explicitly encourage MM play now, and even sponsor "swordplay" nights. This didn't used to be true only a few years ago. But yeah, it makes sense to take the temperature of where you are. I'm sure venue owners would give you a good answer about what kind of play happens in their place.
The other issue tho is financial. Swinger clubs can be much much more expensive for a single male than MF couples or single females. And explicitly gay venues are also much cheaper for single guys. So unless you're part of an MF couple, gay venues might be a better bet.

My favorite nude campground is Dyer Woods in Foster, RI. Everyone is very friendly and there are beautiful trails for nude hiking.

Any nudist beach/resort for LGBTQIA people? I really want to go to one with my wife, but we are not comfortable with straight guys staring at her. Any location.

Sex behind closed doors at least her in the US is because Naturist clubs are Family orientated. That means children are around . Also in some areas if there is public sex then that would classify the club as a sex club and involve whole bunch of different City County or state laws. I have been to a lot of different clubs in the US and the rules varied slightly. The main reason is to keep swingers out or at least out of site . Not gust to discriminate with gay and Bi men . The American Association for Nude Recreation is the largest, most long-established organization of its kind in North America. With roots dating to 1931. the FAQ page >> https://www.aanr.com/frequently-asked-questions/

Keep in mind that nudism breaks into two camps: family-oriented camps and adult only camps. I never attend the family oriented type.
