I know it is all about safe sex, but isnt it taking away from the pleasure of performing the most intimate act upon another woman? Wouldnt it keep the scents and the taste that you have been dreaming of absorbing into your being from happening? I havent had cunnilingus with another woman yet, but I intend to and just never invisioned it with a piece of plastic. What about you other women? I know men never seem to be concerned about safe sex as far as perfoming oral.

Dental dams are so much more fun than condoms for oral sex. Yes the taste does get masked a bit, but definately not the smells. If she is not sensitive to latex, I enjoy using Slicks dams (http://www.early2bed.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=SLICKS&Category_Code=CDG). They smell nice, and come in the same convienent size package as the condoms do. Good Vibrations has a nice little guide on how to use dental dams (http://www.goodvibes.com/Content--How-to-Use-Dental-Dams--id-727).

Dams have a nice added benifit of toyful playing and snapping that you can not do without them there. Sometimes I feel an aversion to rimming while down there, but if a dam is in place, I dive right in. No need to double check that things are clean enough. (Just pull two dams out to play with. Don't want to cause a yeast infection by accidentally moving your rim job too high.)

I've heard differing opinions on whether Saran Wrap is really safe. Has anyone here looked into this?

I've known people who have used it, including myself. It is very safe. It's the next best thing if you don't have dental dams.

A little googling reveals this to be what in the UK we call Cling Film. The general advice is to use the "non-microwaveable" version - the microwaveable kind has teensy holes in it to reduce the chances of your food exploding all over the inside of the microwave, and of course tiny holes are just the thing for ickle STI nasties.
