I was playing around and checked EHarmony (sp) and I realized you can ONLY (your forced) search for "men seeking women" and "women seeking men"
They say nothing about same sex.

Are they an Anti-Same Gender site??? BAD SITE lol I shall NOT recommend it... beside they are very overpriced anyway.

There are other sites to try, anyhow. True and Match.com are good places to start.

There are complaints coming from the clientele that they cater to: one friend of mine went on a date with someone from the site (They set you up... you don't get the autonomy that other sites provide) and said he was HER EXACT CLONE. She said, "I wanted a match, not a perfect replica!"

Isn't match.com under some lawsults at the moment due to scams?? (Fake profiles to lure people) or was that a few years ago??
Im not sure I want to try Match.com again. Thats where I met my ex on.

I tried True.com but it was so confusing lol Ran into problems cause the support stuff doesn't seem to work so I quit using that one.

Have known about eHarmony and how it's not same sex friendly (to put it nicely) for a long time now. Another site to avoid because of the same is Lavalife. I have friends who like OKCupid though for looking for same sex matches.

Ya, I just put up a profile on "OkCupid" yesterday and today for fun "LoveHappens" mostly cause theres a lot of locals there hehe
Both sites seems good so far... I like how easy it is to find things (search, acct info...etc)

Every time I see a eHarmony Commerical I make a face.

LavaLife has separated sites for lesbians and another for gays.
Womanline.com is the lesbians one... not sure what the url for gays is tho.
In a way you should say Lavalife is OK... it gives you the separated sites so you can avoid unwanted "winks" and "messages" from the oppsite sexs... the separated sites allow you to JUST get same sex messages and winks.

I tried True and I caught onto it but didn't meet anyone I really was interested (I was looking for a guy there), so I closed my account, not before getting two free months out of 'em! :D

Tasha, call the help desk, be super nice and sweet and maybe they'll hook you up too.

PlentyofFish.com is totally free and possibly worth a try.

Yeah, a friend (male) placed an ad on LavaLife. In the ad, he mentioned he was bisexual. He wanted to be upfront with his sexuality. The site didn't accept his ad and sent him a message suggesting he use the gay men's site.

I know... on womanline.... I tried to put in my dating/relationshop boxes "I am NOT looking for just sex... nor am I looking for one night stands"

Profile NOT accepted cause Im asking for sex. (as the reason why)

WHAT?!?!?! lol Im not asking for sex... Im stating what im NOT looking for.

Fine. I deleted that line and it was accepted.

Sometimes I don't think real people proof read the profiles lol cause if you want to be honest... ya, you should be able to say "not looking for sex or cyber" to keep unwanted people away.
Heck, the other dating sites let me say that so why not this one? *shakes head*

eHarmony.

EASILY the 2nd most worthless "dating" site on the planet.

the worst is equally yoked cuz you have to "pass a questionaire".

stick to aff, alt and op for true variety.

EHarmony is very pricey......

Check out the following website. It is free, I have had friends use it and had some good luck with it.

Plentyoffish.com

Have you ever listened to their pitch? Unless your truly a narcisist and really really want to date yourself then might not be the place to be. On the other hand they do guarentee a "perfect match" !!! LOL!!!

LOL I don't think theres such thing as perfect.... yes sometimes in your eyes it can be "perfect" but nothings perfect.
I would love someone as quiet as me but at the same time I would be happy with a outgoing person too.

I'm SOO glad Tasha put this on for discussion.I have several comments..
EHarmony contacted me, they had the impression i was single, and looking for a lady...I'm happily married, wife is bi,and I said so. I asked if they could help me find her a bi lady... they don't do same sex relationships.
As for True..what a fuckin JOKE! u can't be married,or a felon,to be a member. I was accepted (did I mention, I'm MARRIED?),and when we tried to cancel, via website. we could NOT cancel! It took changing our bank account. .for true to not get our money anymore. We called them 3 fuckin times, and they still pulled money from our acount Thus,we changed accounts.
When she tried to join,to find a bi lady .. ..she got a nasty e-mail advising she's married. Why then, didn't I get the SAME message? Why did I try to join? I was trying to find her a bi lady, and boy,was I wrong to do it. I know I was dumb to do it, but we all do dumb things.
We might try OK cupid. maybe. . Perhaps there's some local bi ladies..can't hurt to try.
SOO.. I agree with Tasha, and thank her for allowing us/me to vent on this.

My mother tried eHarmony once. It is anti-same sex because it is a religiously backed dating site. It seeks to connect Christians with other Christians. That should answer your questions.

It does get me with EHarmony-they are a huge Christian singles site but yet that is never mentioned in the ads that run on secular media--not exactly very truthful!!!!!

Like with alot of things, people are expected to do due diligence and research before they join a singles site. I admit I don't always do that, but I try to.

Yep.

There was a good looking deafs dating site. (not deafs.com)
and NO WHERE does it says its a Christian site.... so you sign up, soon you learn that every single woman is seeking man.... every man is seeking woman.
When you use the search feature, you are NOT ALLOWED to look for same sex.
Ummm shouldn't they SAY on the site its Christian ?? lol When I canceled my acct they demanded a reason so I put "Not interested in an Anti-Gay site."
hehe

TRUE.com is a pain. Im glad I never paid for thier services. I couldn't even cancel. It took me to a error page over and over so I just hided my profile after deleting my pic and writing "delete profile" where the description belongs.
I also found thier layout to messy and confusing.

PerfectMatch.com is a joke. Yes they do allow same-sex but thier match system only works for straight it seems.
You could get several female matches, some are same sex but some women are straight and looking for men.... WHY are you being matched with someone whos looking for men?? lol Thats not a "match" its a badly mismatch.
Whats worse is MOST of the matches you get..... are people you have NOTHING in common with (I did this with same sex and then tried straight just to see) .... My only advice... do not do what I did, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY lol
Oh ya... ditch "Must Love Dogs" movie cause they misled you about "PerfectMatch.com" Should be called PerfectMisMatch.com

It says no where its a Christian site. Your only clue is the "Man Seeking Woman" and "Woman Seeking Man" which you're "forced" search that you see on the front page.

Ive seen other Christian dating sites where it clearly said somewhere "for Christians" or "a Christian dating....."

If you look up it's founder, you get links.

That's how I found out.

Pay attention to their commercials. You'll also see that that portray a race bias and only display same-race couples. I think recently they had one with an asian woman and an asian-esque looking 'white' guy, but until that one and since (as far as we can tell) - same race portrayals only.

Yeah... I've heard those complaints from some Christians who perfer to date interracially (hey, I still have friends in the church) that eharmony won't set them up with their prefrence. I don't know if it's because that's the user or the system, though
