first, make sure you have the latest version of Java... click the blue button.... it will advise whether or not you need to update to version 6.10:

http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp

second, make sure you have the latest version of Firefox installed,

so....Start Mozilla Firefox, click on 'help' then click on 'check for updates' - the latest version is 3.0.4, then download the update.

third, still in Firefox:
from the Tools menu select Options.
Select the Privacy icon.
Place a check in the 'accept cookies from sites' check box.
From the 'keep until' drop-down list, select 'they expire'.
Click OK.
------------------
finally, download and install the latest version of ccleaner (2.13.720):

http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/
when installing, I remove the checkmark from the bottom box that offers you the yahoo toolbar-I have no use for such things.

next, with the ccleaner page open, click 'options' on the left side, then click on 'cookies' - make sure you are logged into bisexual.com in order that the cookie appears in the 'cookies to delete' column on the lefthand side.

next, click on the bisexual.com cookie then use the arrow to move it to the right column.

now, close the cleaner using the X in the top right corner.

next, close the bisexual.com website (don't log out)... and if you remembered to click "remember me" the last time you signed in, you should be logged in automatically now.

If you DIDN'T select "remember me" you will have to re-login every visit.....much simpler to select 'remember me' (especially if you are the only person using your computer, or if you live alone).

after installing the cleaner, run it 10 times a day if need be, but especially after every visit to the internet. For those who visit porn websites, I would recommend running the cleaner after every 10minutes or so... porn sites leave a LOT of crap on your machine. and if you have an older computer with a slower processor (or on dialup) it'll bog you down.

I put this page in my favourites so that I can see who's in without having to go thru the rigmarole of logging in:

good luck to all

Peg,

Thanks for trying to help me, but I'm just not confidant enough to try this.

Just last week I did something with a Java message that messed up my computer. I had to pay a guy to come "clean it up". I could not get any photos, or enclosures until he worked on it.

Sorry I'm such a retard when it comes to this new technology. I can weld, work on automatic transmissions, build a house, do plumbing and wiring, but these things are scary to me!

I'll stick to writing in the forum.

thanks Richard !

UPDATE re Java:

the newest download (1.6.0.10) is a mess. It puts a yellow border around your chat window and a warning icon in the top RIGHT corner of your pvt. msg. window, indicating that the applet is unsigned., blablabla. A ROYAL pain in the butt!

I UNINSTALLED it and reverted to Java version 1.6.0.7, available for download here:

http://www.filehippo.com/download_java_runtime/4378/

chat will function quite nicely using 1.6.0.7... I would suggest waiting for the subsequent version which follows 1.6.0.10... perhaps by then Sun will have received enough complaints about the flashing yellow border and caution icon to find some other way to notify anyone who cares whether or not the applet is signed (that wouldn't be me). I just want it to WORK without distracting me.

good luck all... if you have any problems, send me a pvt msg.
