Hey all! I'm just about done with a book that I've been working on for a long time now and aside from the word count which shall be added shortly, I've finished my query letter that I'm going to be sending to Writers House. I expect to finish the book within the next week, and once the word count is added into the letter it will be off in the mail.

I don't expect for them to actually want to see my manuscript since I know that many MANY people have to send a bunch of query letters before they even get a bite...but just the fact that it's my FIRST has gotten me so excited!

So anyway, wish me luck all!

I'll write to you and let you know a bit about it. I really only share some details with those that I am sure I can trust so, it sort of is a secret I guess haha.

Rissa, I've attempted to write a book a couple of times and I know it takes a huge amount of dedication and tenacity to accomplish. I always get distracted, loose interest, or sidetracked. Whatever the subject, you are to be commended for finishing it. Good luck with the publisher!

Thanks a lot. I know, it has to be a subject or a concept that you are very passionate about otherwise writers block and disinterest will kill ya. I've actually been trying to write this book for the past 7 years. Everytime I started getting somewhere with it, the stupid computer would crash (figures right) and my dumb ass only saved it to a disc the second time it happened, only to lose it. I gave up for a while, thinking that maybe it wasn't meant to be. However, everytime I sat down at the computer and had a craving to write, no matter what it was I couldn't get this story out of my head. Finally a couple of months ago I had a dream about it and woke up the next day screaming at myself (in my head of course) to do it and get it out of my system. I figured, eh, third times a charm. Since that day, I haven't had writers block, I've been loving every minute that I sit to write, I have gotten massive cravings to write, and have expanded my idea onto a sequel.

So, maybe the things you were trying to write before just wasn't something that clicked. Maybe someday you'll kind of get slapped upside the head with this great idea that you just fall in love with and it will all come pouring out of you.

You're right, Girl. I have to stay focused, if I'm ever gonna do it. I'm at a good, peaceful place in my life, now. So, without the distractions of the past, maybe I can accomplish something. Thanks for the encouragement.
