This programming is yet another fabulous and funny entertainment product brought to you by the good people at the amusingly and aptly named FenceSitter Films (http://www.fencesitterfilms.com). A Film and TV Studio founded by Kyle Schickner (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyle_Schickner) an out bisexual person with the belief that Movies & TV don't necessarily need straight white men as heroes in order to be successful & entertaining. And also that you can present positive themes that reflect real lives that show the world from a Feminist, Queer and POC's (People of Color) point of view without being pedantic, deadly dull or turning off the mainstream viewing audience.
Quite simply FenceSitter Films is "Cinema for the rest of us!"

Our own little Rosie is now an international celebrity with this article in the UK's (that's the 'The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland' for us Yanks) venerable and well read Web magazine BiMedia (http://www.bimedia.org).
Making our own TV: Manchester had Queer As Folk. The USA has The L Word – and there’s talk of the BBC having set the cast for a UK equivalent . . . but it’s all pretty much lesbian and gay television. It seems if we want bi telly, we are going to have to make our own.
Up to that challenge step FenceSitter Films (http://www.youtube.com/user/fencesitterfilms), an American outfit which has launched a web series called “Rose By Any Other Name (http://www.youtube.com/user/fencesitterfilms#p/c/1480F27A3206E9FF)” on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/user/fencesitterfilms).

I spotted this new web series a few days ago, before it was mentioned here, and I've already watched the first 4 episodes. So far it seems nice!
Thanks to the company for producing something refreshing and for giving us a voice in the media. Maybe people will learn that bisexuals aren't sex freaks or serial killers (Basic Instinct-style).
Kudos!

Sometimes Life Mirrors Rather Than Imitates Art . . .
In the Fencesitter Films Web TV Series "Rose By Any Other Name . . (http://www.youtube.com/user/fencesitterfilms#p/c/1480F27A3206E9FF)." the actress Stephanie Riebel (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1789313/) who plays Rose depicts a lesbian sure of her identity and living a comfortable life with her friends in the women's community, who suddenly finds her world and assumptions shaken up when she realizes she's begun to fall for a straight man she's become friends with.
In real life, as has been reported in breathless detail by Mike Szymanski (http://www.examiner.com/x-3366-Bisexuality-Examiner~y2009m11d13-Actress-playing-bisexual-role-dips-into-a-real-life-samesex-relationship) and is spreading like wildfire across internet to "After Ellen", the Twittervers and beyond, Riebel had actually assumed she was as regulation Str8 Girl until as she explains, "I found myself attracted to a person, and I liked the fact that I can feel that way. It happens that I felt the love for a woman."
This has naturally set tongs wagging, fingers pointing, pundits blogging not to mention the PC Police of various denominations lining up on all sides of the issue. A dilemma that is not lost on either her character Rose, who in the story finds her friends upset and her family ecstatic when she dips her toes into the water of a different-sex relationship or on Riebel who tells reporter Szymanski that it's her friends who want to label her.
"In the lesbian world it's different reactions than the straight world to my situation," the actress says. "With women, it's more emotional."
She says, "My friends say it's OK if I'm gay, but I say, 'No, it's just this one person' and then they say, 'It's OK if you're bi,' and I say, 'Well, if that makes you feel better,' but really I don't want to be labeled and don't see the need for the label. I think it's about the person."
As usual like everything else about "Rose (http://www.youtube.com/user/fencesitterfilms#p/c/1480F27A3206E9FF)" all of this has both thrilled and made nervous those who in someway identify with the "B" in LGBT (http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=44503625428&topic=5499) and who have a, shall we say, sometimes problematic relationship with both Straight Society as well as with the mainstream Gay/Lesbian Community.
"Oh wonderful, let the hating begin" one pansexual woman wryly sighed upon seeing the dual "After Ellen" articles of "The battle wages on: Fake lesbians - liberated or lame? (http://www.afterellen.com/blog/stuntdouble/the-battle-wages-on-fake-lesbians-liberated-or-lame)" and "Actress Stephanie Riebel says she's falling for a woman for the first time (http://www.afterellen.com/blog/trishbendix/actress-stephanie-riebel-says-shes-falling-for-a-woman-for-the-first-time)".
But on the other hand as 'North Bi Northwest' wisely counseled the "After Ellen" crowd, "we all have experience not fitting the 'normal' hetero standard set by 'society,' so why should we try to make her fit ours?"

Well people it is Sunday night and a new episode of our favorite Bi-weekly (of course) Bisexual Web TV Series Rose By Any Other Name . . . (http://www.youtube.com/user/fencesitterfilms#p/c/1480F27A3206E9FF) is up. Episode 7 "If thou think'st I am too quickly won (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=40t0IIXy8yE)"
Rose and Anthony finally meet, but has all the "help" from their friends caused them to second guess their date? Meanwhile, Holly tries to distract Jo from the date the best way she knows how.
---------
And BTW the wonderful music playing in tonight's episode is by the lovely and talented Aimee Terrin (http://www.facebook.com/people/Aimee-Terrin/1038966947), that is "Rain" playing in the (hott!!) scenes with Jo and Holly and "One Night Only" is the music at the club. And yes ladies, your eyes do not decieve you, that IS filmed inside of LA's (in)famously wonderful Girlbar (http://www.girlbar.com)

I was thoroughly unimpressed. A woman against the Angry Lesbian Collective.
Sorry you don't fancy it, but then again not everyone likes the same thing. For example I don't like Jerry Lewis or Woody Allen.
The writer/director/star seems a bit of a tool. We've seen this before. It was called "Chasing Amy" or "Go Fish".
Actually those were take-off's of this which actually came first. It was a popular off-off-broadway play back in the day that was laer turned into a film at a time when all the people who went on to make those things were all young college students in the same milieu. But no one really minds because it is a timeless story.
In the mean time, skip this crap.
To each his or her own, other people love it. But again there is no accounting for taste. If we all liked the same things there would be no need for menus at restaurants.
I have read Mike Szymanski's so called article on the series and it is poorly written. He writes about how the star's real name is a major secret but then gives the TV shows that she's been in before and actually gives her real name in the article.
???? I believe that is a misreading of something or perhaps there was a typo. The lady playing Rose has been doing publicity appearances along with everyone else. She has never kept it a secret.
This is not surprising since he is not a good writer or journalist and he will just make stuff up like claiming that certain celebrities and people are bisexual when they are not bisexual at all. He's no better than Perez Hilton.
Well I don't actually know this Szymanski person and you seem to, but just from sometimes seeing his columns here and there he seems to be a nice genuine fellow and not at all a vicious person like many Hollywood Gossip columnists.
But again you seem to be very immersed in all of this yourself so perhaps you know better. I'm just an average person who likes a TV show.

Sounds like someone needs a hug :grouphug:
I am just happy to see that a bisexual person isn't just an accessory for someone's sexual gratification. I mean gosh, what the hey. How many movies or shows with bisexuals made in America when one of the characters is bisexual in a positive non ankle-grabby way please let me know.

It's here! And just in time for the Holidays too. The NEW Episode of FenceSitter Film's (http://www.youtube.com/user/fencesitterfilms) Web TV Series Rose By Any Other Name... (http://www.youtube.com/user/fencesitterfilms#grid/user/1480F27A3206E9FF) "Lovers can see to do their amorous rites (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XOihYwYj5TI)".
In which Rose invites Anthony back to her house after the concert. Meanwhile, Jo gets distracted from her mission to disrupt Rose's date, (and wait until you see how LOL! .... . . probably NOT what you thought it might be)

If this thread didn't concern a legitimate subject, I think most would consider it spam, with all the back and forth between the same people.
Thanx for the heads up, though. I'll keep an eye out for the show.

The problem is that there is no longer a full time (or even really a part-time) Moderator for this Site. It used to be Chris, but he seems to have left. So there is no longer any way to post things up on the "Top" Section where we know that this really belongs. So this is all we could think of.
I REALLY wish they'd hire a new Moderator if Chris, who was just a doll btw and we all miss him, is gone for good.
Thanx for the heads up, though. I'll keep an eye out for the show.

The NEW Episode of FenceSitter Films (http://www.facebook.com/pages/FenceSitter-Films/120417158540) Web TV Series Rose By Any Other Name... (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Rose-By-Any-Other-Name/110278438013) "Episode 9 "Wilt thou be gone? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzER73I8cfM)".
Our star crossed lovers have kissed, but will the misinformation Anthony got from his friends put an end to their romance before it gets started? Meanwhile Veronica and Chris disagree on their idea for a fun evening out.

this new episode of the Webseries 'Rose By Any Other Name... (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=leS_xSK18Hw)' has started a REALLY interesting discussion on YouTube (as well as inadvertently being a contributing factor in a Flamewar on Twitter (http://twitter.com/BinetUSA)). Have you seen it yet?
What do you all think?
