I'm sure you've all heard of what has been going on recently with the birth control Yaz. Supposedly, it's getting really bad. The best way I can sum it up is that while every birthcontrol has it's list of risks and possible side effects that some people can suffer from, Yaz users seem to suffer from them all the majority of the time! I looked into it the other day and from several websites with user reviews, out of HUNDREDS, I'd see maybe only 2 that were positive. And boy the negatives were definitely negative...

I went to the doctor a few weeks ago, and when I asked to be on ortho tri cyclen, I later find out she had prescribed me Yaz. When I went to the doc yesterday, I said I needed a new script for birthcontrol and I was in such a rush to get out of there (that place is awful) I forgot to tell him WHY I needed a new script and that I wanted to be on ortho. Low and behold, I'm sitting here with Yaz in my hand. I called today to see if they could just put a new script in for me, and they insisted that Yaz is just as safe as any other birth control. When I brought up the point that no other birthcontrol is going through a massive, nationwide lawsuit for causing serious harm or death to young, healthy women, she dismissed it. She then informed me that they refused to give me a new script unless I made another appointment with the doctor to talk about it. It usually takes at least three weeks, usually way more, to get an appointment at this place!

So yeah, I've now come to the conclusion that I must have done something to piss off the government and they are trying to find subtle ways off me:bigrin:

Sorry Rissa, any chance you can get pvt(civilian) medical? or is it just too expensive?

Either way it sucks - Drs should pay attention to this stuff.

*hugs*

My sister's doctor put her on Yaz and it made her have a period for 2 weeks straight. She eventually made another appointment and got on another pill. The doctor and the ones working under him does seem like a bunch of quacks, I would look into finding another doctor if that is possible.

.
They apparently even make a condom for women.

Condoms break, they're aren't that reliable. And no one uses condoms for women, can't find them anywhere. And I hear they slip around a lot.

Just get you a new pill.

Yes, birth control pills are about 99.9% effective, that .1% does slip by every now and again.

I have had friends who bough cheap condoms or got the free ones they hand out at the clinic.. those are the condoms that tend to break on people. I never used them, but I've had friend that had.. They break. I use the slightly more expensive brand condoms and they never broke on me. I would personally rely on the pill before I rely on the condom if I were in a steady relationship like Rissa is.

Oh I just made an appt with planned parenthood for next saturday so I can get the script written by them. I have to pay for the visit, which stinks since the clinic is free, but it's worth it to have that clinic out of my hair.

While I don't fuck pussy in all my years of fucking ass I've never had a condom break even when I was going at it very fast and rough.

If you've ever read the info with condoms in the boxes it even tells you how they are designed for vaginal sex only.

Nearly all of my straight male friends who have wives who swore up and down that they were on the pill, taking it regularly, and like you are supposed to wound up getting pregnant anyway even though they were on a birth control pill.

First of all, one of my kids is due to a broken condom. I also have had another child due to the pill (which apparently, if I would have spoken to some friends or read some reviews about it, I probably would have seen that it happened often on that particular pill. Secondly, I'm allergic to latex and the non latex are not as effective as the latex ones. So yeah, condoms are out.

My husband is actually going to get snipped at some point in the future, but now is not the time for that, so this is only until he starts shooting blanks.

Dus makeya wonda tho wy sum quacks think they always hav the rite 2 foist on us stuff we don wan an certainly don trust...

I had one nurse sitting in the gynos office last year telling me that I should just get my tubes tied. I kept explaining to her why we had chose for my husband to go through it, and she kept rolling her eyes at me. I told the doc when she came in, and she excused herself for a second. I heard her, even though she was speaking low, basically ream out the nurse for not only acting that way, but dismissing all of the points that I had made considering that they were valid points that any other professional would have made.

Gotta love the nurses around here too...

Reminds me of something Sammie19 told me once. Her mum was all booked in for sterilisation, but her dad wouldnt let her go through with it because for him it was a little snip on the NHS conveyor belt.. for her something altogether much more intrusive and unpleasant.:) Well done Daddy C. :)

Don't ya just love the govt healthcare systems? Rissa, if there be any possibility, figgure out some-how. For you and your hubby, to get away from the military health-care system. They are just a bunch of idiots that have their hands tied because of fear that they may say the wrong thing and then have to face a military tribunal of some sort. They are also a typical govt organization that is so confused, mixed up, the left doesn't know what the right is doin, and vise versa, neither side doesn't know what they are supposed to do. I mean that it's total chaos, and it seems like nobody gives a damm either.

Am I right??? I bet that if you looked, talked around that you would find a lot of desperation stories like yours.

Am I shure glad that the govt sponsored public healthcare (called Obamacare) is about to go down into ruin-ation, and is not going to happen. I am sure that if the govt operated public healthcare system were started that at first things would be the ultimate perfection. But after a few years then everything would start to fall apart and it would become the "out of control monster" that the military is (and always has) experienced. Soon expenses, bookkeeping, corruption and politics would be out of control, and beyond repair. Just like it is for the enlisted, folks. I bet that the higher ranking folks don't go through all this crap! Do they?

Now Rissa, let get this understood, OK? You saw the "doc" asked for a birth control prescription, told them that you wanted a certain kind, stated a (good reason I suppose) reason why you wanted a certain kind. And they prescribed the kind that you had carefully explained that you did not want??? Dayaummmmm if they did that to me I would have cussed them out for that. I mean I would have called them names that would have made a sailor blush. Then I would have went home, got on the computer (microsoft word publisher) and typed up a letter to my congress, senator, hospital CEO, post commander, newspapers, TV News, John Stossel, 60 minutes, I mean just give me a few minutes, i'll come up with more.

It's not thqat this would never happen to a person in the civilian world. It will, but when it does you will wind up saying to yourself "well I know where I wont go to next time" and find yourself another doc. Not so in the military. They assign you a clinic, doctor, ETC and it's either them or nothing at all. You do without......THAT'S NOT RIGHT,,,,,,NO THEY ARE NOT TRYING TO KILL YOU RISSA,,,,,,BUT THEY EVENTUALLY WILL, if you let them.

I cannot speak for the various healthcare systems around the world. As to whether they are good or bad, efficient. expensive??? I cannot say. To the folks in other countries, if youre system works good for you, great! I am happy for you. All I can really say is that if the govt takes over the civilian healthcare in this country, it will turn into disaster, just like the military's

Damm All this just pisses me off :banghead:... I need to get off my :soapbox: now, before I blow a gasket

Your friend, :doggie:

Have you looked into Essure, Rissa? It's supposedly a lot easier than the other methods of sterilization. http://www.essure.com/

Damn I'm going to be a doctor working for the military. .. I won't be thick skulled and prescribe birth controls that no one wants... ESPECIALLY Yaz, I know what that pill can do to a person.

My advice is to stay away from all medication that hasn't been on the market for more than 6 years. New drugs always have bugs that needs to be worked out, the older the drug is, the more trusted it can be. I hope your problem works out.

Remember drugs that is less than 6 years old is no good, stay away from them.
