Interesting study of relationships ...

If anyone is hostile, a woman’s risk of heart attack increases (but a guy is fine).

If anyone is dominant/controlling, a guy’s risk of heart attack increases (but a woman is fine).

So does this mean …

Fights – guys, enjoy – girls, just say no

S&M – guys, proceed at your own risk – girls, go ahead and have fun :tong:

Your thoughts?

That's an interesting article, thanks for sharing, Annakarina

Somehow it doesn't surprise me that unhealthy relationships are bad for your health :)
What does surprise me is that they are not equally unhealthy for both partners. I would interpret the conclusion of the research as: if the relationship is based on equality and friendly treatment of each other, that's better for the health of both.
 on the other hand: does it suggest that in a relationship of two men, it's ok that they're hostile, and two women, it's ok that one is controlling? ;)

I can understand anger as a factor in heart disease. On both ends of a relationship. However, as a person with arteriosclerosis, and having had an angioplasty/stent, I am having trouble connecting it with blocked arteries.
